Moravian Falls to Elizabethtown at Makuvek Field

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's lacrosse squad fell to visiting Elizabethtown College, 25-5, in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Blue Jays needed just 33 seconds to score, and Elizabethtown had a quick 2-0 lead. Sophomore midfielder Aaron Judge scored to put the Greyhounds on the scoreboard at the 11:45 mark. The Blue Jays answered with a goal before graduate student attack Connor James cut it to a one-goal deficit again at 3-2 with 6:25 left in the first period. Elizabethtown scored the next four goals including one to beat the buzzer to lead 7-2 after 15 minutes of action
  • The Blue Jays continued their run three more goals to begin the second quarter before sophomore midfielder Nick Sullivan got the Hounds back on the scoreboard. Elizabethtown added six more goals with a pair in the final 5.1 seconds of the half to head to the intermission with a 16-3 advantage
  • Elizabethtown scored the first five goals of the third quarter until junior attack Brennan Fluehr had a goal in the final seconds of the period as the Blue Jays led 22-4 after 45 minutes of play
  • The Blue Jays tallied four more goals while Judge finished off the scoring with a man-up goal for the Greyhounds

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian had five different players score a point with Judge netting two goals to go with four ground balls
  • James, Sullivan and Fluehr all tallied one goal for the Blue & Grey with James scooping up a pair of ground balls
  • Sophomore midfielder Gannon Mesko was 14-for-31 on faceoffs to go with a team high five ground balls while senior defender Shane Cassel had four ground balls
  • Sophomore defender Jason Levy posted three ground balls and three caused turnovers while sophomore midfielders Aden Moskovitz and Kyle Weiss both had a pair of ground balls and two caused turnovers
  • Sophomore goalie Thomas Lee recorded four saves and four ground balls in 30 minutes of action while junior goalie Avery Napolitano added four saves in the second half
