Tillou Honored as Landmark Softball Pitcher of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Senior Elizabeth Tillou of the Moravian College softball team has been honored as the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance over the last seven days.

Tillou helped the Greyhounds to a 6-0 mark last week as the squad stretched its winning streak to 13 games with a sweep of Ursinus College. Tillou was 3-0 in the circle for the week with a 0.72 ERA, one shutout, and 11 strikeouts in 19.1 innings of action.

Tillous started the week with a 2-1 win at rival Muhlenberg College with two strikeouts. She then tossed 6.1 innings in the Greyhounds' 6-2 Landmark victory at Elizabethtown College. Tillou finished the week with a three-hit shutout of Ursinus as she struck out seven in the 8-0, six-inning win.

"Liz had a very good week in the circle for us," stated Head Coach John Byrne. "She has been throwing the ball very well over the last two weeks. Liz swung the bat well too last week and it was nice to see her get her a homer."

At the plate, Tillou hit .500 with four hits including a three-run homer at Elizabethtown. The round-tripper was the first of her career and gave all eight members of the Greyhounds' senior class at least one home run during their career. Tillou also added 10 assists in the field.

Moravian, 19-5 overall, returns to action on Monday, April 14 in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m. in Doylestown.
