Dalickas, George & DeLucia Named to NFCA All-Region Teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Juniors first baseman Jenn Dalickas and center fielder Dior George of the Moravian College softball team have been named to the 2014 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-East Region First Team, and a total of three Greyhounds earned All-Region honors. 

Dalickas, who earned First Team honors for the third consecutive season, and George, who made the First Team after two years on the All-Region Second Team, are now eligible for Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America honors which will be announced on Wednesday, May 21 at the championship banquet in Tyler, Texas prior to the start of the 2014 NCAA Division III World Series. Senior third baseman Rachel DeLucia was named to the All-East Region Second Team. A total of six players from the Landmark Conference earned All-Region accolades with Dalickas and George the only First Team honorees.

The Greyhounds under the direction of 21-year Head Coach John Byrne, who as a career mark of 675-213, posted a 29-8 overall record this spring, the 21st consecutive season that Moravian has won at least 23 games, and a 9-3 mark in Landmark Conference regular season action. The Greyhounds made their 20th consecutive appearance in the postseason.

Dalickas, who is also a three-time member of the Landmark All-Conference First Team and the 2014 Landmark Conference Player of the Year, led Moravian with a .505 to go along with 54 hits, 38 runs, 12 doubles, two triples, a school record 12 home runs, a school record 53 RBIs, a school record 106 total bases, a .991 slugging percentage, 19 walks and a .579 on-base percentage. Dalickas, who moved to first base from right field this position, had 218 putouts and seven assists in the field while starting in all 37 games, just one of two Greyhounds to play in every game this spring.

George, who was a First Team All-Conference selection the past three seasons and the 2012 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year, was the 12th player in school history to reach 150 career hits earlier this season, and George has set the school record in runs scored with 143. She hit .443 from the leadoff position with 43 hits, 42 runs, 11 doubles, three triples, a pair of home runs, 13 walks and 97 RBIs. She also added 66 total bases, a .680 slugging percentage, 13 walks, six hit-by-pitch, a .525 on-base percentage and six stolen bases. George, who missed the Landmark Tournament with an injury, had 42 putouts and three assists from her center field position in 33 games this spring.

DeLucia, who was also a member of the Landmark All-Conference First Team, hit a career-high .410 this spring with 32 hits, 21 runs, eight doubles, six home runs and 27 RBIs. She also had 58 total bases, a .744 slugging percentage, eight walks and a .472 on-base percentage. DeLucia made 20 putouts and 49 assists in the field.
