Women's Basketball Ranked 5th in NCAA DIII Mid-Atlantic Region

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Moravian College women's basketball team is ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the first NCAA Division III Regional Rankings of the 2016 season.

The Greyhounds, now 17-5 overall, trail Landmark Conference foe The University of Scranton, Albright College, Muhlenberg College and Marymount (Va.) University in the region. The Blue and Grey are 0-4 against the top three teams in the region; however, Moravian does have victories over three ranked teams from the Atlantic Region – No. 1 Stockton University, No. 3 Montclair State University and No. 4 DeSales University.

The Hounds clinched a berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament Wednesday evening with a 73-49 win over Drew University as Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk has the program heading to the postseason for the 26th time in her 29-year career. If Moravian wins its final three Landmark Conference games of the season, the Greyhounds will clinch the second seed and a home semifinal game in the Landmark Conference Tournament on Wednesday, February 24.
