Wright Selected to D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College graduate student forward Alexis Wright has been selected to the D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team.

This marks the third time in her career that D3hoops.com has honored Wright as she made the All-Region First Team in 2013 and the Second Team in 2015 and 2016. Wright was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year for a second consecutive season this winter, and she made the Landmark All-Conference First Team for the third time.

"Another honor for Alexis which adds to her long list of accomplishments as a member of the women's basketball team here at Moravian College," commented Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "Alexis has achieved much in her career and remains grounded and humble. She has been terrific to coach over the past 5 years and her legacy will be forever etched in the record books. More than records made and broken though, Alexis' attitude and team first mentality were her greatest assets."

Wright helped the Greyhounds to a 20-8 record this season including a berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament and an at-large spot in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament where the Hounds upset No. 15 the University of New England, 70-60, in the first round before falling to No. 7 Tufts University in the second round.

Wright averaged a double-double this winter at 13.2 points per game, which was second on the team, and a team-leading 11.6 rebounds per contest. She also had a team-high 73 blocked shots to go with 52 assists, 42 steals, a 70.4 free throw percentage (88-of-125) and a 39.0 field goal percentage (141-of-362). Wright finished her career as the school record holder on the boards with 1,272 rebounds, and she was third in points with 1,711, second in blocked shots with 277 and sixth in steals with 213 while playing a school record 121 games. Wright also set marks for career field goals attempted at 1,650 and career free throws attempted at 648, and she is third in field goals made with 643 and free throws made with 413.

Wright was both a Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Women's DIII News Honorable Mention All-American in 2013.
