Breidinger Selected as Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week

Noah Breidinger, the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week, makes a tackle at Gettysburg College.

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Moravian University senior linebacker Noah Breidinger has been selected the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Greyhounds' 16-13 overtime win at Gettysburg College on Saturday.

Breidinger recorded 14 tackles including six solo stops, and he added two tackles for loss and forced a fumble in the red zone in the first half. Breidinger and his defensive teammates did not allow Gettysburg to score in the second half as the Hounds rallied from a 10-0 halftime deficit, and Moravian forced the Bullets into a field goal attempt in overtime setting up the Blue and Grey with the opportunity to win. Breidinger and the Hounds allowed Gettysburg just 270 yards of total offense and only 138 yards after the intermission.

"Noah played very well yesterday," commented Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "His mental and physical preparation during the week allows him to play at a very high level on Saturday's. He controls things in the middle of the field, and he can deliver some hits too. That showed in the run defense against Gettysburg as he didn't give up a lot of yards after the initial hit."

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, September 18 when the squad hosts Susquehanna University at Rocco Calvo Field with action in the Greyhounds' home opener and Family Day game set to kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
