Nate Boyle, Jackson Buskirk, Nick Petros and Christopher Mills for Centennial Conference Postseason awards

LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian University football squad has had three student-athletes named to the 2021 Centennial All-Conference Teams with sophomore running back Nate Boyle and senior defensive back Jackson Buskirk selected to the Second Team and senior wide receiver Nick Petros picked on the Honorable Mention squad. Senior quarterback Christopher Mills was named to the Centennial Conference Fall All-Sportsmanship Team.

Boyle earned his first postseason award after his first season on the field. He led the Greyhounds rushing attack this fall with 605 yards and three touchdowns on 130 attempts, and Boyle also caught 10 passes for 56 yards.

"Nate is well deserving of his Second Team All-Conference recognition. He showed steady progress as the year went on and that was a direct correlation to his on the field productivity," stated Head Football Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "I'm excited to watch Nate continue to grow in the program."

Buskirk was selected to the All-Conference Second Team for the third time in his career, and he led the Moravian defense in 2021 with 76 tackles including 45 solo stops to go along with one and a half tackles for loss, an interception, four passes defended and a forced fumble. Buskirk, who was named the Sean Keville MVP Award winner for the third straight season in the Greyhounds' contest with Muhlenberg College, finished his career with 298 tackles including 191 solo stops, which ranks fifth in school history. He also had ten and a half tackles for loss, 24 passes defended with four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.

"Jackson had a major impact on our team this year. He has been a great leader for us the past four seasons on and off the field," Pukszyn said.

Petros also earned the third All-Conference honor of his career after making the First Team in 2018 and Honorable Mention in 2019. This fall, Petros led Moravian with 53 receptions for 634 yards and three touchdowns, and he also had one rushing attempt for eight yards and punted 13 times for an average of 35.9 yards. In his career, Petros set school records with 173 career receptions and 20 career receiving touchdowns while finishing his playing days second all-time with 2,422 receiving yards. He also tied for sixth with a 35.8 career punting average on 150 punts (sixth all-time) for 5,376 yards (fifth in school history).

"Nick has been a high-level performer since he stepped on campus. I couldn't be prouder of his accomplishments over the past four seasons," Pukszyn commented.

Mills completed 149-of-273 passes for 1,773 yards in 2021 to go with 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while starting nine games. He missed the regular season finale with an injury. In his career, Mills threw for 4,910 yards, which ranks sixth in school history, and he was also fifth all-time with 397 completions, sixth with 700 pass attempts and sixth with 35 touchdown passes.

"Chris has been a great teammate over the past four years. He had great work ethic, attention to detail and enthusiasm in everything he did as a student-athlete," noted Pukszyn.

Coach Pukszyn guided the Greyhounds to a 3-7 mark in 2021, and graduates 31 of the 84 players on the roster heading into the 2022 campaign.
