Moravian Adds Six Assistants to Football Coaching Staff

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University Head Football Coach Jeffrey Long Jr. has added six new assistant coaches to his staff with Nick Paradise named as Special Teams Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach, John Kidner named as Offensive Line Coach, Jason Ugwu named as Defensive Line Coach, Dom Filippo named as Nickel Backs Coach, Joe Bottiglieri as Linebackers Coach and Tevrin Brandon as Running Backs Coach as Long continues to build his Greyhound staff in his first month with the program.

The group joins Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach Mike Kane, Safeties/Co-Special Teams Coach John Menegakis, Cornerbacks Coach E.J. Williamson and Assistant Offensive Line Coach Nick Sacco

"We are excited to have these six coaches join the staff we are building here at Moravian," stated Long. "We are ready to begin our spring non-traditional season as we get set to get the squad ready for the fall.

Paradise comes to Moravian after three seasons at The University of New England where he held different roles including special teams coordinator, wide receivers coach, academic coordinator for the offense and video coordinator. He was a graduate assistant at John Carroll University in 2018 and 2019 as running backs coach, and Paradise was on the staff at Muhlenberg College in 2016 and 2017 as tight ends and fullbacks coach. Paradise earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Becker College in 2016 and a Master's in Business Administration from John Carroll in 2020.

Kidner joins the Greyhounds after one season at John Carroll as assistant offensive line coach and offensive quality control. He finished a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Studies with a concentration in Athletic Administration in May 2022.

Ugwu, who played collegiately at Wilkes University and graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, was an assistant coach at Bethlehem Catholic High School in 2019. He also works as a Senior Engineer for the PPL Corporation and is working on his MBA at DeSales University.

Filippo comes to Moravian after four years as a student assistant coach at John Carroll. He worked as a video coordinator for the Blue Streaks and assisted with the secondary and all defensive game planning and opponent breakdown. Filippo graduated from John Carroll in December 2022 with Bachelor of Arts in Sports Studies.

Bottiglieri joins the Greyhounds after a year at Alvernia University, and he has 40 years of coaching experience including stops at Lafayette College from 1973 to 1977 and Lehigh University from 1997 to 1999 and again from 2013 to 2017. Bottiglieri served as the Head Coach at Mansfield University from 1978 until 1982, and he led the Shippensburg University program from 1986 to 1989. In addition to his time at Lafayette and Lehigh, Bottiglieri was the Head Coach at Allentown Central Catholic High School in 2000 and the Head Coach at Emmaus High School from 2001 through 2011. Bottiglieri is a 1971 graduate of Bloomsburg University.

Brandon comes to Moravian with several years of professional playing experience having been on the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad in 2014, the Denver Broncos practice squad in 2015 and playing the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League. Brandon is a Lehigh Valley native, graduating from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 2009 before heading to The University of Connecticut for three seasons and then Monmouth University for two years, graduating in 2014.

Moravian is slated to begin its 2023 season on Friday, September 1 with a non-conference game at Muhlenberg College with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Frank Marino Field at Scott Wood Stadium. The Greyhounds are transitioning from the Centennial Conference to the Landmark Conference this fall.
