NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. --- Moravian College senior Thomas Lakata earned medalist honors with a round of 75 to lead the host Greyhounds to a runner-up finish in the Moravian Spring Invitational played at Olde Homestead Golf Club Tuesday.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds had a team score of 322 to behind The University of Scranton, which had a team score of 318. The Hounds were leading until the fifth players for each team came off of the course
  • Lakata's three-over par round of 75 led the 25 golfers in the tournament

  • "Thomas played a really solid round today. He had a stretch of three birdies in a row, and it was nice to see him earn medalist honors for the first time in his career," stated Head Coach Kevin Edwards 

Moravian Results

  • Lakata's round of 75 tied his career low and marked his first medalist honor finish in his career. He carded three birdies, all in a row on the back nine, and a total of 10 pars
  • Sophomore Andrew Hozza was tied for third with a 79, and he had one birdie and 10 pars
  • Junior Will Breslin finished in a tie for seventh with an 81 as he carded one birdie and eight pars
  • Senior Victor Tavares was 15th with an 87 that included a birdie and six pars
  • Freshman Sam Mortazavi was 23rd with a round of 95 that included one birdie and four pars
  • Senior Kody Kolnik played as an individual and carded an 80 to finish in a tie for fifth, and Kolnik had a birdie and 10 pars
