Moravian College Announces Plans for 2020 Fall Sports

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Today, Moravian College announced that in the absence of a fall sports schedule, in both the Landmark Conference and Centennial Conference (football), the Athletic Department will work with other colleges and universities to schedule scrimmages for teams and players interested in competing in their respective sports. This decision comes in response to the Landmark Conference announcement that all fall sports will be postponed for 2020. In addition, on July 7 the Centennial Conference announced that fall sports, including Moravian College Football, would be postponed. During these planned scrimmages, Moravian College will keep the health of all student athletes at the forefront and provide a safe environment for everyone who competes.

"We're disappointed for all of our student athletes, their families and the coaches of our Greyhound athletic teams; this is just one more thing that has been disrupted by the pandemic," said Bryon Grigsby, president of Moravian College. "We're confident that with proper planning and communication with other schools our student athletes can have the opportunity to enjoy some healthy competition in the sports they love."

From today's Landmark Conference announcement, "At present, it is the intent of the Landmark Conference to play a conference schedule and conduct league championships for fall sports in the Spring of 2021."  The Landmark Conference also stated that a status update will be provided on October 15 regarding the league's winter and spring championships.
