Oonagh Breen
Class: 2021
Major: Health Sciences

How did you choose your sport? My dad definitely passed on his love for soccer to me. He began teaching me the sport at a very young age and continues to do so to this day.

Why did you come to Moravian College? I never knew about Moravian until I came for a visit on campus with Coach Ykoruk. After visiting, I fell in love with the small campus atmosphere and the town of Bethlehem. Also, Moravian offered a great balance between having great academic opportunities while also getting to continue to play the sport I love.

What is your major and how did you choose it? Health Sciences, which I chose because Moravian offers a Pre-Physical Therapy track and I hope to be an orthopedic physical therapist one day.

What are your future plans? After graduating in May, I will be attending graduate school to purse my Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

What is your favorite place on campus? John Makuvek Field, especially under the lights before a night game.

What activities/organizations at Moravian College have you been active in as a student-athlete? I am a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and the Pre-Health Club.

What is your most memorable moment at Moravian? My favorite moments at Moravian are during preseason when I get to spend all day everyday with my teammates.

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions? I put on the left side of everything first. So first I put on my left sock, then right sock. Left cleat, then right cleat. Then left shin guard, right shin guard. Lastly, I tie my left shoe and then tie my right shoe.

What advice do you have for prospective student-athletes looking to attend Moravian College? Appreciate each and every moment with your teammates, it goes by so fast!

What is the best piece of advice you've been given? My mom always told me "Patience is a virtue." Sometimes no matter how hard you work, things don't go your way, but if you remain patient, humble, and kind, you will live and happier life and find success in your hard work.

Who are your role models/most influential people? My mom and dad. They have always shown me what true hard work is and to always be kind and polite to others.

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with? All 3 of my grandfathers who have passed away.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise most people. Although I am right-handed, I am left-footed. When I was young, I broke my right ankle and was afraid to use it after. Eventually, my left foot became my strong side, and it has been that way ever since.
