This Day in Greyhound Sports History - August 25, 2004 - Christina Scherwin '05 places 29th in the world at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece for her native Denmark.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Throughout the 2020-21 academic year and beyond, the Moravian College Department of Athletics and Recreation is going to take a look back through the last 121 years of Greyhound competition with the This Day in Greyhound Sports History series.

The series will include personal milestones and records, individual accolades, team championships and important contests for all 20 varsity teams as well as other notable events in the department's history. We've been able to find something for just about every day from August 29 through May 30. The series' graphics will be posted on Moravian's social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

To begin the series, we look back to August 25, 2004 when Christina Scherwin '05 competed for her native Denmark in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Sherwin placed 29th in the world with a throw of 56.86 meters (186-6) in the javelin.
