BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next current student-athlete in Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation Get to Know Series is women's basketball student-athlete Kayla Yoegel '22. Yoegel has seen action in 43 games for the Greyhounds in her first two seasons with the program, and she has contributed 208 points, 134 rebounds, 31 steals, 31 blocked shots and 25 assists. Yoegel was also named to the Landmark Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll last year.

How did you choose your sport? Grew up playing a variety of sports but was around basketball the most. I started dribbling a ball when I was 4. My mom played basketball in college and is friends with former West Chester University coach, Deirdre Kane, and my mom worked the summer camps there. I quickly fell in love with the game.
Why did you come to Moravian College? Great balance of athletics, academics, activities, and social life. Also wanted to play for a winning program and a reputable Coach.
What is your major and how did you choose it? Sports Management. Big fan of all sports and wanted to learn more about the business side of it.
What are your future plans? Work for a professional sports team or a Division 1 college/university athletic department.
What is your favorite place on campus? Johnston Hall
What activities/organizations at Moravian College have you been active in as a student-athlete? Fellowship of Christian Athletes, SAAC, Christian Fellowship
What is your most memorable moment at Moravian? Hitting the game-winner against Drew at home last year. My teammates jumping on me at the end of the game is something I will never forget.
Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions? Go to the trainer and get the Norma-Tec boots before every home and away game. It's a must! (shoutout Sarah Coelho)
What advice do you have for prospective student-athletes looking to attend Moravian College? If you are looking for a place that will challenge you academically and athletically, Moravian is the place for you.
What is the best piece of advice you've been given? What you put into things is what you get out. Effort and work ethic are everything.

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with? Jesus, Pat Summitt, Mike Krzyzewski
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise most people. When I graduated high school, I was 5'6.
