BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next current student-athlete in Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation Get to Know Series is baseball student-athlete Robert Roman '22. Roman has seven hits in 24 at-bats in his career with a pair of doubles and three RBIs. He was named to the 2020 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

How did you choose your sport? I began playing baseball at an early age. My dad passed on his love for baseball - like him, I developed a passion for the sport throughout the years. Luckily, I've been able to follow my passion into my college.
Why did you come to Moravian College? During my initial college search, Moravian's academic reputation, history, on-campus feel, and proximity to home captured my interest. The decision became easy when Moravian afforded me the unique opportunity to play baseball and pursue nursing.
What is your major and how did you choose it? I study nursing at Moravian. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in medicine since high school. I was attracted to the teamwork, human interaction, fast-paced environment, patient care, and challenges associated with nursing. I also appreciated the vast opportunities and various work environments that the field presents.
What are your future plans? After graduating, I intend to attain my nursing licensure and work as an operating room nurse.
What is your favorite place on campus? My favorite place on campus is either Gillespie Field or the Sally Breidegam Miekewits Center for Health Sciences.
What activities/organizations at Moravian College have you been active in as a student-athlete? I've been a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and 26 Point Ambassadors during my time at Moravian.
What is your most memorable moment at Moravian? My most memorable moment is hitting a walk off in 2019 against Messiah College.
What is the best piece of advice you've been given? Little things are big things. Success is the by-product of preparation.
Who are your role models/most influential people? My parents - their examples have instilled my work ethic and values.
Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with? Anthony Bourdain, Joe Rogan, Conor Mcgregor.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise most people. I am an only child.
