Greyhound Outdoor Track & Field Teams to Start 2021 Season at Elizabethtown on March 27

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's and women's outdoor track & field teams are scheduled to start their 2021 season on Saturday, March 27 at the Elizabethtown College Early Bird Opener with action beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The meet is the first of four the Greyhounds will compete in before the 2021 Landmark Conference Championships at Susquehanna University on Saturday, May 8. The Hounds will host the annual Greyhound Invitational on April 10 and the Coach P Open on April 17 before a trip to Juniata College on April 24.

Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann enters his 10th year leading the Greyhounds, and he has guided the track & field teams to a combined 32 indoor and outdoor Landmark Conference titles in his first nine years. The men's squad has 22 returners this spring led by senior Shane Mastro, who won the Landmark Conference in 2019 and was second in the discus, the last time the conference held an outdoor championship due to the pandemic. The Hounds also have graduate student Greg Jaindl back after being the runner-up in the 1,500-meter run, the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000-meter run in 2019 to earn All-Conference Second Team honors as well as junior Max Shuman, who was the runner-up in the pole vault in 2019.

The Moravian women's team has a total of 27 returning student-athletes including five that earned All-Conference First Team accolades in 2019. Leading the group are senior Jenevieve Eberly, who is the defending Champion in the 100-meter hurdles and junior Ally Lambert, who won the 400-meter hurdles in 2019. Lambert was also part of Moravian's winning 4x400-meter relay with senior Morgan Weaver, and Weaver joined with graduate student Jordan Luciano and senior Camyrn Wheeler to win the 4x100-meter relay. Luciano also earned All-Conference Second Team honors in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and long jump back in 2019 while Weaver was second in the 400-meter dash. The Hounds also return senior Natalie Novotni, who was the runner-up in the 5,000-meter run at the last Landmark Conference Championship, and junior Natalie Stabilito, who was second in the 800-meter run.

]As a reminder, in accordance with Landmark Conference policy, no fans will be allowed at any Landmark Conference school for sporting events through April 4. Beginning on April 5, Moravian will be allowing fans that are wearing masks into its athletic venues with more information to come.
