BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College Director of Athletic Communications, Mark Fleming, has been selected as a 2021 inductee into the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame.

Fleming has been instrumental in the growth and success of Moravian College Athletics serving the community as the Sports Information Director for the past 24 years.

"Mark has dedicated his career to promoting the successes of our coaches and student-athletes. His commitment to our College is immeasurable and we are grateful for his continued service and support," said Athletic Director Mary Beth Spirk. "It is a tremendous honor for Mark to be inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame and we congratulate him on this recognition."

Fleming has been an active member of CoSIDA and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference-Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA). He served a three-year term on the CoSIDA Board of Directors from June 2011 until June 2014 and also served a three-year term as the chair of CoSIDA's College Division Management Advisory Committee in June 2014 through 2017.

Currently, Fleming serves as the Chair for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame and is a former member of the CoSIDA Academic All-America Committee, which he joined in 1996, and the DIII Sports Information Directors Board as the Communications Director since its inception in 2009. He served as the initial chair of the Landmark Conference Sports Information Directors Committee from 2007-09 and is serving a second term as the committee's chair from 2018-21.

In June 2013, Fleming was awarded the Lester Jordan Award by CoSIDA for exemplary service to the Academic All-America program and the promotion of the ideals of being a student-athlete. In 2014, he won a District 2 Award in CoSIDA's Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest for his Athlete Profile on Libario Obeid, and in 2015, he won the District 2 Award for his Coach/Administrator Profile on Dawn Ketterman-Benner.

A 1994 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in speech communications and a minor in journalism, Fleming entered the sports information field as a high school student in 1990. He received a master's degree in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in May of 1997.

While at East Stroudsburg, Fleming worked as a graduate assistant in the sports information office. Fleming then served a year as the Assistant Sports Information Director for Bentley College and the Northeast-10 Conference before arriving at Moravian College.

"I'm humbled and honored to be part of the 2021 CoSIDA Hall of Fame Class announced today. It is a tremendous statement that others feel I have had a career that puts me into the illustrious group of now 236 Hall of Fame members that includes many friends and colleagues across the country. We don't get into this business to promote ourselves or even with the goal of earning awards, but I'm honored to have my peers select me into the Hall of Fame," Fleming said.

Inductees into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame and Academic All-America Hall of Fame will be honored with pre-recorded videos in June during the virtual CoSIDA National Convention.
