BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next coach in the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation's Get to Know Coach series is Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Dave Carty, who is in his sixth year with the Greyhounds and helped restart the program in 2015.

What is your favorite part of your sport? The history of lacrosse and the camaraderie
How did your experience as a student-athlete help shape you as a coach? I had an incredible college coach who taught me the game and what the game means to the people who play it.
What do you love most about coaching at Moravian College? I love the community and the support.
What is your favorite place on campus and why? I really enjoy Steel Field and the history around it.
What is your most memorable moment at Moravian? Winning the first game in program history. Winning our first league game.
Do you have any pre-event/game rituals or superstitions? Too many to count…
Sum up your coaching philosophy in one sentence? Teamwork
What do you look for in a recruit? He needs to be the whole package, great academics, great lacrosse player and great person off the field
What is the best piece of advice you've been given? My first year John Byrne told me "Don't recruit kids for a new program, recruit players to win a championship" it was great advice.
Who are your role models/most influential people? My mom and dad, they taught me to work hard and never quit.
Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with? My Dad, Jesus and my Grandfather "Poppy"
What have you done more of since March that you wouldn't have if sports had not been postponed? Spent time with my family
If you weren't coaching, what would you be doing? Professional Fisherman
