PRINCETON, N.J. --- The Moravian College men's track & field team had three competitors run on a wet and cold evening Friday on the opening day of the Sam Howell Invitational hosted by Princeton University.
In races of mainly NCAA Division I competition, junior Alec Duncan placed 16th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:57.17, just 17 second shy of qualifying for the ECAC Championships in his first race of the year in the event.
Freshman Cory Taggert was 28th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:10.08 while junior Dillon Farrell was 47th in the 5,000-meter run in 15:19.97, just 4.97 seconds shy of the ECAC qualifying standard for the event.
The Greyhounds will have a pair of javelin throwers compete at the Sam Howell Invitational on Saturday, April 5 at 11:00 a.m. while the rest of the team will be participating in the Muhlenberg College Invitational starting at 10:00 a.m.
