TOWSON, Md. --- Junior runner Dillon Farrell of the Moravian College men's track & field squad has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance this past Saturday at the Greyhound Invitational.
Farrell, who earned Landmark Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this outdoor season, was the runner-up in the 1,500-meter run with an ECAC qualifying time of 3:57.75 that was also the fifth fastest time in school history. Farrell was able to take more than a second and a half off of his previous season-best in the event, and he has the fastest time in the Landmark this spring by nearly five full seconds.
"Dillon was a little disappointed after just missing the ECAC qualifying time last week in the 1500 so we decided to try one more time this week and obviously he improved, thanks in part to some good pace setters in the race," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "He's cranking out some great workouts right now so we both feel even better times are on the horizon."
The Greyhounds are slated to have several competitors in the Penn Relays Thursday to Saturday, April 24-26 including Farrell in the Olympic Development 5,000-meter run on Thursday at 10:00 p.m., and the team will also be competing at the Lehigh University Games on Saturday, April 26.
