CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's cross country team was first of three schools in the Bulldog Invitational hosted by DeSales University Friday evening to open the 2018 season.
The Hounds scored 27 points, finishing 14 points ahead of Muhlenberg College and 28 ahead of the host Bulldogs. Junior Gregory Jaindl won the 5,000-meter race in a time of 16:01 while junior Justin Beasley-Turner took fourth of 46 runners in 16:28. Senior Devon Harris had a time of 16:30 to place sixth while junior Gavin Kemery was a spot back in 16:39 and freshman Dominic Derafelo finished ninth in 16:59 to give the Hounds five of the top nine runners.
Moravian placed another four in the second ten with freshman Joseph Capone in 14th place at 17:21, sophomore Peter Gingrich in 16th in 17:29, freshman Brad Clemson in 17th in a time of 27:35 and freshman Richard Glennon in 18th at 17:37.
The Greyhounds are slated to return to the course on Saturday, September 8 when the run on the Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Alumni Challenge at Union Canal Park in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, the site of the 2018 Landmark Conference Championships in October.
