37 Greyhounds Named to Landmark Spring Academic Honor Roll

TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference announced its 2015 Spring Academic Honor Roll selections today, with 37 Greyhounds out of 396 student-athletes receiving recognition. The Honor Roll recognizes all spring student athletes who have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.

Of the 396 student-athletes recognized this spring, 176 are repeat honorees having been awarded in a previous year, with 63 seniors having been named to the Honor Roll all three years they have been eligible. The Hounds had 11 repeats and eight seniors who earned the award all three years. The Honor Roll marks the first academic accolades awarded by the conference this spring. The Landmark will announce the Senior Scholar athletes next month.

The list has the outdoor track and field teams leading the way with a total of 20 athletes, 14 from the women's side with six from the men's team. On the men's side, who earned their seventh Landmark Championship, are three-peat seniors Dillon Farrell, Mike Hofmann and Chris Ossont all earned their third consecutive spot on the honor roll. Joining them is junior John Barr who earned his second consecutive honor and sophomores Greg Cahill and Jordan Sweeney.

From the women's team that has earned its eighth straight Landmark Championship, seniors Devon Bedell, Claire Del Casale, Dana Fineman, Jenny Kratch, Emily Lambright, Brielle Sutter and Alyssa Tallon., junior Christelle Reglas along with sophomores Meg Brockett, Jackie Finnegan, Sarah Hughes, Larissa Strycharz, Lauren Suelke and Lauren White all made the Academic Honor Roll. It is third selection for Fineman, Lambright and Sutter and the second consecutive for Bedell, Del Casale, Kratch and Reglas.

The men's tennis squad had a three-year member in senior co-captain Lewis Cooper while juniors co-captain Matt Tuorto and C.J. Widdifield have earned the honor for two consecutive years now. Sophomores Giovanni Lombardi and Dan Schmucker also garnered the award for the first time. Junior captain Courtnie Lambert represented the women's tennis team earning the award for the second time.

The softball team had eight players named to the Spring Academic Honor Roll with seniors Lizzie Mack, who has been on the list the past three years along with a repeat for Dior George. Juniors Kiersten Cain, Mary Schlosbon and Lindsey Sullivan join them on the list. It is the second selection for Sullivan. The sophomore class is represented by Victoria Conner, Abby Jefferies and Chrissy Marinaro.

Senior Justin Pilchman from the baseball team earned his third consecutive spot on the Spring Academic Honor Roll. Joining him is junior Cameron Leon, who earned his second consecutive selection, and sophomore Nicolas Ampietro.
