McCabe & Orlando Named to ECAC Division III South All-Star 2nd Team

DANBURY, Conn. --- Moravian College seniors defensive lineman Tim McCabe and defensive back Anthony Orlando have been named to the 2015 ECAC Division III South All-Star Second Team for their performances during the 2015 football season.

The duo helped the Greyhounds to an 8-3 overall record with a 7-2 mark in Centennial Conference action. Moravian was earned a berth in the Inaugural Centennial Conference – Middle Atlantic Conference Bowl Series and started the season at 8-1 for just the second time in school history.

McCabe, who was on the Centennial All-Conference First Team in November, made the switch to the defensive line this season and finished fourth on the squad with 56 tackles including 34 solo stops. McCabe led the Hounds with 17 tackles for loss for a total of 72 yards, and he also had a team-best seven and a half sacks for loss of 43 yards. McCabe led the team with three forced fumbles while starting all 11 games. In his career, McCabe had 70 tackles with 42 solo stops, 19 and a half tackles for loss, eight and a half sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass break-up in 23 games.

"Tim did outstanding job for us this year," noted Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "He made a seamless transition from outside linebacker to defensive end. His size, strength and quickness off of the ball made him an every down player. I can't thank Tim enough for his selfless attitude over the past four years."

Orlando, who was named to the Centennial All-Conference First Team last month for the second time in his career, was third on the team with 71 tackles including 48 solo stops. Orlando led Moravian with three interceptions, and he had a total of seven passes defended to go with two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. In three seasons with the Hounds, Orlando contributed 225 tackles with 147 solo, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, four interceptions, 10 passes defended, four fumble recoveries with two returned for touchdowns and one forced fumble. Orlando was one of the Greyhounds' co-captains this fall, and he made the Centennial All-Conference Team each year of his career with First Team selections in 2013 and 2015 and a Second Team nod in 2014. He was also on the ECAC Division III South All-Star First Team in 2013 and the D3football.com All-South Region Second Team. Orlando is a two-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll recipient, and he made the inaugural Academic All-Centennial Team this past season.

"Anthony was a leader for us on and off the field," commented Pukszyn. "He played his best football this year which is what you want to see for a senior. Tim and Anthony are great people who are also great representatives of Moravian College and the Greyhounds Football family."
