Hounds Begin 2016-17 Schedule at Muhlenberg Tuesday Evening

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's basketball squad opens its 2016-17 schedule on Tuesday, November 15 with a non-conference game at rival Muhlenberg College with tip-off at 8:00 p.m. in Allentown.

Moravian Head Coach Justin Potts begins his second year at his alma mater with all five starters and 11 players back from last year's 11-14 squad that won four of five last games to complete the 2015-16 season.

Leading the returnees is senior forward Brandon McGuire, who made the Landmark All-Conference Second Team after netting 17.4 points and grabbing 9.0 rebounds per game to lead the Greyhounds, and McGuire added 33 assists, 27 three-pointers, 25 blocked shots and 19 steals. Sophomore forward Oneil Holder was the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year last season with averages of 13.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and Holder had 27 blocked shots, 22 assists, 19 three-pointers and 17 steals in his debut campaign.

Sophomore guard Jimmy Murray was second on the squad last winter at 14.9 points per game to go with 47 three-pointers, 26 assists and 22 steals while sophomore forward Jake McGee averaged 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per outing in his first collegiate season to go with 26 three-pointers, 14 assists and 14 steals. Senior guard Sean Hanna dished out 84 assists while netting 7.5 points per game to go with 63 rebounds, 32 steals and 25 three-pointers while senior guard Isaiah Jennings added 80 assists, 98 points, 53 rebounds, 35 steals and nine three-pointers.

Junior guard Matt Cardonne returns as another threat behind the three-point line with 46 treys last winter as he averaged 7.2 points per game to go along with 30 rebounds, 19 assists and 14 steals. Junior guard Khalil Rhett is back after 65 points, 47 rebounds, 18 assists and 12 steals while sophomore guard Will Brazukas adds depth in the backcourt after posting 67 assists, 51 points, 38 steals and 37 rebounds in his debut season.

Potts has added six new players to his program that add depth to the pressing, up-tempo style played by the Blue and Grey.
