Greyhounds Ranked No. 17 in NFCA Preseason Top 25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Moravian College softball team has been ranked No. 17 in the 2017 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Preseason Poll.

The Greyhounds under the direction of Head Coach John Byrne, who enters his 24th season with a 750-227 career record, enter the 2017 season with 17 returners from last year's 37-6 squad that won a Landmark Conference title and reached the final of the NCAA Regional in Ithaca, New York.

"Preseason polls give you a starting point for the season, and while it is nice to be ranked this early, it really is the ranking at the end of the season that means the most," commented Byrne. "We have a very solid nucleus of returning players and seven newcomers that will make up the 2017 team. We are looking forward to getting the season started next month especially having been able to get outside a few times since practice began."

Moravian begins its 2017 schedule at the Spring Games played at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida from March 5-10. The Blue and Grey have 10 contests scheduled for the week with the opener on Sunday, March 5 versus SUNY-Oneonta at 8:00 a.m.
