Moravian named Karlie Brogan, Maddie Capuano and Nadine Ewald as 2018-19 team captains.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's basketball team has named juniors Karlie Brogan, Maddie Capuano and Nadine Ewald as its captains for the 2018-19 season.

"Karlie, Maddie and Nadine made an impact on our team the moment they arrived on campus as freshmen," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "It has been a journey together as they have all matured and grown on and off the court. We look forward to their leadership as we begin our season. The three of them bring different skill sets, not only from a basketball side, but also as role models on our relatively young team in terms of experience on the court. We are fortunate to have three quality leaders on our team."

Brogan began the year having scored 418 points in the first 54 games of her career, starting 53 of them. She had 282 rebounds, 88 steals, 80 assists, 40 three-pointers and 29 blocked shots through her first two seasons.

Capuano, who was named to the 2018 Landmark All-Conference First Team and the 2017 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year, entered the season with 708 points in 54 games, having started all of them. She also had 169 assists, 126 rebounds, 101 three-pointers, 90 steals and five blocked shots.

Ewald played in 51 games with 50 starts over her first two seasons with the Greyhounds, and she entered the year with 515 points, 388 rebounds, 49 blocked shots, 48 assists and 48 steals.

Moravian, which is 2-0 on the season, is slated to return to action on Friday, November 16 when the squad plays the University of Lunchburg (Va.) in the opening round of the Kean (N.J.) Tournament with tip-off set for 5:00 p.m.
