MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College junior guard Maddie Capuano has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware for her performance last week.

Capuano, who was selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week, guided the Greyhounds to a 3-0 record last week including the championship at the Kean (N.J.) University Classic by averaging 27.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, and she was also named as the Most Valuable Player at the Kean Classic after scoring 50 points in two games. Capuano hit 27-of-56 field goal attempts (48.2 percent), 13-of-29 three-pointers (44.8 percent) and 16-of-19 free throws (84.2 percent) while seeing 102 minutes of action during the three games.

Capuano began the week with a career-high 33 points in a 71-55 win over Penn State Lehigh Valley, and she added four assists and two rebounds in 27 minutes of action in the contest. She then had 30 points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes as the Greyhounds rallied for a 69-63 victory versus The University of Lynchburg (Va.) in the opening round at Kean. Capuano completed the week with 20 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 61-58 win over Eastern University in the championship game while playing 38 minutes.

"Maddie had a great start to the season," commented Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She put together a string of games early on as good as any player that I have seen. This a terrific accomplishment for Maddie. We hope she can continue to play consistent the rest of the season."

Moravian, which is 4-1 overall this season, is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, November 28 when the squad travels to Immaculata University for a non-conference game tipping off at 6:00 p.m.
