Nadine Ewald named Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior forward Nadine Ewald has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Ewald helped the Greyhounds to a 2-0 week including a 93-92 win over Elizabethtown College in the 2018-19 Landmark Conference opener as Ewald hit the winning free throw with 3.3 seconds left. She averaged 23.0 points and 10.0 rebounds during the week in 59 minutes of action, and Ewald was 19-for-31 from the floor (61.3 percent). She had 18 points and seven rebounds in a 77-65 victory at Immaculata University. Ewald then had a career-high 28 points to go with 13 rebounds in the win over Elizabethtown as she picked up her second double-double of the season and 14th of her career.

"Nadine has had a great start to the year," commented Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "These past two games were as good as any she has had in her career, and this is a well-deserved honor. Nadine's growth as a player in terms of play and leadership has been tremendous. We hope she continues to stay focused and continues to perform at a high level. Our team success is in direct correlation to Nadine's success and progression."

Moravian, 6-1 on the season, is scheduled to return to action on Monday, December 3 in a non-conference game at The College of New Jersey beginning at 7:00 p.m.
