Greyhounds Fall Short to Drew, 2-1

The Moravian College women's soccer team fell to conference foe Drew University Saturday afternoon, 2-1. Junior defender Eileen Black netted the lone goal for the Greyhounds.

Moravian got on the board one minute into the game when Black netted her second goal of the season off a corner kick from senior midfielder Jenna Stickle. The Greyhounds would battle the rest of the half to take the 1-0 lead into the intermission.

The Rangers would tie the game up in the 65th minute when junior Courtney Carnevale netted her first goal. Just seven minutes later Drew would take the lead with a goal from senior Christine Meconi. The Greyhounds fought hard the rest of the game but were unable to score.

Moravian sophomore goalkeeper Genevieve Chaleff tallied two saves in the contest.

The Greyhounds return to action Wednesday, October 5 when they travel to Rowan University for a non-conference game at 5 p.m.

Moravian returns home next Saturday, October 8 when they host conference rival Juniata College. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
