The Moravian College women's soccer team fell to conference foe The University of Scranton Wednesday night, 3-0. Senior midfielder Jenna Stickle would take 12 corner kicks for the Greyhounds.
The Royals got on the board first when junior defender Jessica Sciscione blasted a direct kick from 28 yards into the upper right corner. Moravian would put the pressure on Scranton just a couple minutes later when they were able to get six corner kicks and four shots off in a three minute period, but were unable to convert. However, the Royals would notch their second goal of the game when freshman forward Courtney O'Kane netted a goal in the upper right corner.
The Greyhounds would outshoot Scranton 7-5 in the first half and held the corner advantage, 10-2.
The Royals would push the lead to 3-0 just five minutes into the second half when Sciscione netted her second goal of the game. The Greyhounds would try to battle back the rest of the half, but the game would end at 3-0.
Sophomore goalie Kelsy McAnelly for Scranton would get the shutout and the win. Junior goalkeeper Tori Korona would get the start for the Greyhounds.
Moravian and Scranton both had ten shots, but Moravian held the corner kick advantage, 12-3.
The Greyhounds return to action Saturday, October 22nd when they host conference rival Goucher College. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
