TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Isaac Schefer has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Schefer helped the Greyhounds to a 2-0 week by going undefeated in both singles and doubles action. Schefer had a 6-0, 6-4 win while playing first singles in an 8-1 win over Gwynedd Mercy, and he captured a 6-2, 6-2 victory at third singles as Moravian defeated FDU-Florham, 5-4, to finish the fall portion of the schedule at 2-2. In doubles action, Schefer won a pair of contests at second doubles, combining with sophomore Sean Kearns at Gwynedd Mercy and teaming with sophomore Mason Hudnall versus FDU-Florham.
"Isaac had a really solid week for us and played an instrumental role in our team earning two big wins to help us finish the fall with a .500 record," stated first-year Director of Tennis Aaron Wilf. "We were happy to see him earn his first career win at the #1 singles spot against Gwynedd Mercy and he continues to be solid for us in his doubles matches. Isaac has been one of the vocal team leaders for this group and we look forward to a great spring season with him as he closes out his college career."
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 16 when the squad begins the spring season with a non-conference contest versus Rutgers-Camden beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Hoffman Courts.
