BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team earned a 7-2 non-conference victory over visiting Neumann University Thursday afternoon at Hoffman Courts.
The Greyhounds, now 9-6 this season, trailed 2-1 after doubles action with the tandem of freshman Shadi Eldawayati and junior Carlos Ramirez posting an 8-4 victory at third doubles to start the contest.
The Hounds would end up sweeping the singles action for the 7-2 triumph. Freshman Daniel Salimnejad was first off the courts with a 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles to tie the contest at 2-2 while senior Isaac Schefer put the Blue and Grey in the lead for good with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles. Sophomore Mason Hudnall won 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles while sophomore Sean Kearns captured the winning team point with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at fifth singles. Freshman Neil Guarino recorded a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at sixth singles while senior Peter Demyan finished off the contest with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-6 win at first singles.
Moravian is scheduled to return to the courts on Friday, April 12 in a non-conference contest versus Gwynedd Mercy University beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Hoffman Courts.
