BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to visiting Drew University in Landmark Conference action at Hoffman Courts on Senior Day to close out the 2018-19 season.
The Greyhounds conclude the year with a 12-8 mark under the direction of first year Director of Tennis Aaron Wilf. The Blue and Grey trailed 2-1 after doubles action with the tandem of senior Peter Demyan and junior Christopher Csencsits posting an 8-3 win at second doubles. The pairing of sophomores Mason Hudnall and Sean Kearns ended up playing a tiebreaker in their third doubles match, falling 8-7 (7-4).
The Rangers won the first singles contest to finish before freshman Daniel Salimnejad posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at third singles. Demyan evened the overall team score at 3-3 with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph at first singles to finish his career with a 37-28 singles record, tying for tenth in school history in career singles wins. Drew won the final three singles contests to capture the win.
Prior to the match, the Greyhounds held a ceremony to honor Demyan and fellow seniors Austin Grace, Luke Peterson and Isaac Schefer.
