Moravian Runs in College Brown 8K Race at 47th Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's cross country squad raced to a 32nd place finish out of 41 schools in the College Brown 8K race at the 47th Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Friday. 

How It Happened

  • Senior Shane Houghton paced the Greyhounds with a PR time of 25:51.8 to finish 59th of the 340 runners in the race, one of four male collegiate races on the day
  • Freshman Nathan Hajel also had a PR of 26:53.1 as he finished in 163rd while senior Dominic DeRafelo was 196th in 27:13.9
  • Senior Michael Lerch posted a time of 27:22.4 to finish in 209th while freshman Jake Farrell placed 298th with a PR time of 28:39.1
  • Rounding out the Greyhounds in the Brown 8K were senior Brad Clemson, who was 305th in 28:50.6, and freshman Geoffrey Kleinberg, who placed 315th in 29:27.1
  • Moravian also had seven runners in the Men's College Open Race, the first of the day. Leading that group was sophomore Jordan Ford, who ran a PR time of 28:57.2 to place 302nd of 380 runners in the race
  • Junior Christian Jancsarics also had a PR in the Open race in 29:45.5 while sophomore Casey Frank registered a PR time of 29:59.4. Also competing were sophomore Brendon Ward, who ran 30:06.5, senior Richard Glennon, who had a time of 30:19.3, junior Elias Aviles, who ran 30:39.8, and sophomore Liam Fitting, who had a PR of 31:11.8
