Ray Reimer ’89 – New Inductee to Hall of Fame

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Raymond J. Reimer '89, a former football player, is being inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame on November 8, 2013 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Ray was a four-year member of the football squad, and he is the 11th member of Moravian's 1988 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship and NCAA Playoff team to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Ray started in the defensive backfield for the Greyhounds and is the third of the four starters in the secondary to join the Hall of Fame. He recorded 181 career tackles with 158 solo stops. He also had 16 interceptions that included a pair returned for touchdowns, 19 passes defended, one and a half sacks and a fumble recovery.

Ray was Moravian's Blue & Grey Senior Scholar-Athlete in 1989 as well as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete. Ray was named to the MAC Fall All-Academic Team as well as the GTE Academic All-District Team in 1988. He was on the All-MAC Second Team in 1988, and earned ECAC Player of the Week honors in 1986 for the Albright College game and in 1988 for his performance versus Susquehanna University

Ray, who was elected as the student speaker for his Moravian graduation in 1989, currently works for Travelers Middle Marketers as a vice-president and actuary. He resides in Berlin, Connecticut, with his wife and Diana and their three children Jared, Vanessa, and Grace. Ray has spent time coaching youth teams in basketball, baseball and softball.
