Centennial Conference Releases 2013 Preseason Football Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Centennial Conference announced its 2013 preseason poll as selected by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors after the 2013 Centennial Conference Football Kickoff - #CCKickoff13 - on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College Wednesday.

The Greyhounds, under the direction of third-year head coach Jeff Pukszyn, return 60 letterwinners and 16 starters from last year's 2-8 squad. The Greyhounds were 2-7 in their sixth Centennial Conference season last fall since joining the conference as an associate member in 2007, and Moravian expects to have 105 players report to camp on August 15th.

Defending Centennial Conference Champion Johns Hopkins University, which captured its seventh Centennial Conference title a year ago, was selected first in the Centennial Conference poll with 17 first-place votes and 161 points. Franklin & Marshall was picked second with 139 points and the remaining three first-place votes while Ursinus College was third with 122 points. Muhlenberg College was picked fourth with 120 points while Gettysburg College was fifth with 98 points. Susquehanna University finished sixth in the poll with 86 points while Juniata College was seventh with 57 points. Dickinson College was eighth at 54 points while Moravian had 39 points for ninth and McDaniel College rounded out the poll with 24 points.

Moravian will begin its 2013 schedule on Saturday, September 7th in a non-conference game at Ithaca College kicking off at 1:00 p.m. at in Ithaca, New York.
