Negron's TD Voted Centennial Conference Play of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Moravian College freshman running back Chris Negron's 50-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter versus Ursinus College last Saturday at Rocco Calvo Field has been voted as this week's Centennial Conference Play of the Week.

The touchdown was Negron's second of the game, and pulled the Greyhounds within one touchdown, 52-44, with 4:49 to play after trailing by as many as 32 points in the game. Negron had a career high 164 yards on the ground on just nine touches including a pair of touchdowns. He also caught one pass for 54 yards and added a kickoff return of 19 yards and a punt return of one yard. Negron's 238 all-purpose yards are the ninth highest single game total in school history, and he averaged 19.8 yards each time he touched the ball last Saturday.

The Centennial Conference started honoring a Play of the Week this fall with the plays nominated by the schools and voted on by fans on the Centennial Conference website to select the winner. This week, Negron's touchdown run received 217 votes and edged a touchdown pass by the Gettysburg College combination of Zach Miller and Alec Pacelli by 12 votes. Susquehanna University's Duke Hyacinthe was third with 133 with his blocked punt for a touchdown.
