Golfers Place 3rd & 12th at Muhlenberg Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team placed third of 12 teams after two weeks off at the Muhlenberg College Invitational played at the Lehigh Country Club Monday afternoon.

The Hounds had a team score of 311, finishing three strokes behind Rutgers-Camden and 18 strokes behind the host Mules. Moravian's B team was 12th with a 358.

Sophomore Tyler Smith led the Greyhounds with a four-over par round of 74 to tie for fifth of the 61 golfers. Smith's round included one birdie and 13 pars. Senior Jim Maru finished in a tie for seventh with a75 on Monday that saw hit make two birdies and 10 pars. Freshman Kody Lang led Moravian's second team and was tied for 19th with an 80 that included one of the two eagles in the tournament along with a birdie and seven pars.

Junior Anthony Beltrami and senior Evan Dickinson each tied for 21st with rounds of 81 with Beltrami carding three birdies and eight pars and Dickinson shooting two birdies and seven pars. Junior Dan Leppert shot an 83 to tie for 31st. Leppert had one birdie and seven pars in his round while freshman Joe Rochelle had five pars in his round of 85. Sophomore Matt Miksiewicz had a birdie and two pars in his round of 94 while senior James Lobb carded a 99. Freshman Zachary Balaga turned in a round of 104 in his first collegiate outing.

Moravian will be right back on the course on Tuesday, October 13 when the Greyhounds head to the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Invitational at the Indian Valley Country Club.
