Hounds Remain 2nd at Empire 8 Championships after Third Round

HERSHEY, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team remains in second placed heading into the final round of the 2015-16 Empire 8 Championships after a team score of 310 in the third round Saturday at the Hershey Country Club.

The Greyhounds trail nationally-ranked St. John Fisher by 23 strokes after Saturday's action, and Moravian had led the tournament after the first round last fall.

Sophomore Kevin Kunkle had the Hounds' best individual third round with a 75, and he is in seventh place overall with a 54-hole total of 238. Senior Jim Maru is in second place with a 226 after a 78 in Saturday's round while junior Dan Leppert is in 10th with a 242 after shooting an 82 in the third round. Sophomore Tyler Smith is in a tie for 12th at 244 with an 80 on Saturday while senior Evan Dickinson sits in 16th place with a 247 after a 77 in the third round.

The final round of the tournament is slated for Sunday, April 17 at the Hershey Country Club.
