Hounds Finish 5th at Griffin Invitational

AVONDALE, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf squad finished fifth of 14 schools at the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Invitational played at the Inniscrone Golf Club Tuesday.

The Hounds carded a 318 as a team, finishing just five strokes out of second place, while host Chestnut Hill won the tournament with a 298.

Junior Dan Leppert led the Greyhounds as he tied for 10th of the 67 golfers in the tournament with a round of 77 on the par 70 course. Senior Evan Dickinson and sophomore Tyler Smith each had rounds of 80 to tie for 18th while junior Anthony Beltrami was one stroke back with an 81 to finish in a tie for 20th. Senior Jim Maru rounded out the Moravian lineup with an 85 to finish tied for 32nd.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Thursday, October 15 in the John Makuvek Cup with DeSales University and Muhlenberg College with DeSales hosting the outing at the Brookside Country Club.
