Kunkle Earns Medalist Honors at Dickinson Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa. --- Sophomore Kevin Kunkle earned medalist honors at the Dickinson College Invitational Wednesday with a one-over par round of 71 to lead the Moravian College golf team to a second place finish at the Mayapple Golf Links as the Hounds opened the spring portion of their 2015-16 season.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 304, finishing six strokes behind Gettysburg College and three strokes ahead of the host Red Devils.

Kunkle and Danny Harcourt of Gettysburg both fired rounds of 71 on the par 70 course but Kunkle earned the tiebreaker on a match of cards that went to the second hole handicap. Senior Jim Maru and sophomore Tyler Smith were both tied for fifth in the field of 25 golfers with rounds of 76. Junior Dan Leppert was tied for 15th with an 81 while senior Evan Dickinson was tied for 16th with an 83.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Monday, March 28 when the squad heads to the Lebanon Valley College Invitational at the Lebanon Country Club beginning at 12:00 p.m.
