Farrell Wins Goucher Classic as Hounds Place 3rd Overall

TOWSON, Md. --- Senior Dillon Farrell won the Goucher College Cross Country Classic to lead the Moravian College men's squad to a third place finish Saturday morning.

Farrell, running on an 8,000-meter course for the first time this season, finished the race in 29:15.15, winning by 14 seconds to lead the field of 82 runners in the men's race.

The Greyhound men finished with 80 points, 30 behind Landmark Conference opponent The United States Merchant Marine Academy. The race featured five Landmark teams, and the course is the same one that will be used for the 2014 Landmark Championships on November 1.

Senior Alec Duncan was the second Greyhound to cross the finish line, placing fifth in 29:53.69. Sophomore Cory Taggert was 22nd in the race in a time of 30:26.44 while freshman Robert Cahill was 25th in 30:31.04 and junior Jeremy Rigotti placed 27th in a time of 30:33.02 to round out Moravian's top five.

Freshman Austin Stetler took 33rd in the meet with a time of 30:39.81 while freshman Josh Toth was 39th overall in 31:09.15. Freshman Mike Kopach placed 51st in 32:07 while senior Corey Schauerman was 62nd and freshman Zimra Winters took 64th to complete the Hounds group of competitors.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 18 at the Princeton University Invitational in their final tune-up before looking to defend their Landmark Conference title on November 1 back at Goucher.
