Farrell Tabbed as Corvias/ECAC DIII South Co-Runner of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. --- Moravian College senior Dillon Farrell has been selected as one of the Corvias/ECAC Division III South Co-Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week for his showing at last Saturday's Princeton University Invitational.

Farrell, who was also the Corvias/ECAC Co-Runner of the Week back on September 25, placed fourth of 337 runners in the Open Race at the meet with a time of 24:37 on the 8,000-meter course, just two seconds shy of his school-record time. Farrell has recorded the top four times in school history and eight of the top 10. During his career, Farrell's three fastest times have all come on the course at Princeton including a school-record 24:35 in 2013.

Farrell had the top NCAA Division III finish in the Open Race, and he posted the second fastest time of the meet for a Division III competitor, finishing one second off the time of a competitor from Haverford College that ran in the Championship Race.

"We were all hoping for a faster time last Saturday, but it still wasn't a bad race," commented Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "One of the top runners in the region competed in the other race, and his time was only one second faster than Dillon's so even though we wanted a quicker time, it's encouraging that he's running what the top runners in the region are doing."

Farrell will look to win his third consecutive Landmark Conference Individual title when the Greyhounds return to action at the 2014 Landmark Championships set to be hosted by Goucher College on Saturday, November 1. The men's race is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
