Duncan Turns in Career-Best Time at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. --- The Moravian College men's cross country team competed in the Open race at the Princeton University Invitational Saturday in the squad's final tune-up before the 2014 Landmark Conference Championships.

The Greyhounds placed 11th of 27 teams in the race with a score of 313, taking fifth of the 11 NCAA Division III squads in the race. Senior Dillon Farrellgot the Hounds off to a good start, finishing the 8,000-meter race in a season-best time of 24:37, just two second shy of his school record set on the same course last fall. Farrell was fourth of the 337 runners in the race.

Senior Alec Duncan also had a season-best as well as a career-best time of 25:57, breaking 26 minutes for the first time as a Moravian runner, and Duncan was 28th in the race. Junior Jeremy Rigotti turned in a season-best run of 27:04 to place 103rd while sophomore Cory Taggert ran a season-low 27:33 to finish in 140th.

Freshman Josh Toth registered a time of 28:11 while freshman Robert Cahill clocked in at 28:59. Junior Maxwell Korten ran 29:25 while freshman Austin Stetler had a time of 29:40. Rounding out the Greyhounds were senior Corey Schauerman in 31:11 while freshman Zimra Winters ran a 31:59.

The Greyhounds will take a week off before competing in the 2014 Landmark Conference Championships at Goucher College on Saturday, November 1. The men will run first in two weeks at 11:00 a.m.
