Women's Soccer Headed to Barcelona, Spain from August 1st to 9th

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team will be heading to Barcelona, Spain on Thursday, August 1st for eight days of touring, practice and matches.

Fourth-year head coach Brienne Smith and her squad of 15 players will fly from New York to Madrid before a second flight into Barcelona on Friday. Once the Greyhounds arrive, they will have a practice session before attending the FC Barcelona vs. Santos (Brazil) soccer match.

Saturday features a tour of Barcelona while Sunday will have a clinic with a professional coach and more time to sightsee.

Moravian will play its first match on Monday as the squad takes on CE Sant Gabriel while Tuesday will feature another practice session for the Greyhounds and a tour of FC Barcelona's Camp Nou Stadium.

Wednesday and Thursday will see the group go on tours during the morning and earlier afternoon before matches in the evening as Moravian plays RCD Espanyol on Wednesday and FC Barcelona on Thursday.

The Greyhounds will head back to the United States on Friday, August 9th. Once the team returns to Bethlehem, the players will have a week off before returning to campus to begin preseason came on August 17th. Moravian is set to begin its 2013 season on Friday, August 30th when the squad takes on host Wilkes University at the Colonel Classic in Wilkes-Barre at 3:30 p.m.
