Women's Soccer Falls to Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 non-conference decision at Haverford College on the road Wednesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds had a pair of shots in the opening half including one on goal by junior forward Kirsten Schall just three minutes before the intermission. Moravian would also get the first shot of the second half when senior midfielder Taylor DiSora put a shot wide a minute and a half into the final 45 minutes.

Senior forward Caroline Clark nearly broke the scoreless tie in the 64th minute but Haverford goalie Robin Chernow made the save to keep the game tied.

The Fords broke through in the 82nd minute to get the first goal of the game, and Haverford added another goal off of a corner kick less than two minutes later.

Moravian senior goalie Genevieve Chaleff played the opening half with one save while sophomore keeper Jacqueline Zalis had four saves in the second half for the Greyhounds. The Fords had 13-5 advantage in shots, and Haverford took the only five corner kicks in the match.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 5 in a Landmark Conference match at The Catholic University of America starting at 1:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
