Volleyball Falls to Gallaudet at Buttermaker Tournament

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-0 match to Gallaudet University to close out the first day of the Buttermaker Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College Friday evening.

The Bison won the first set 25-22, and took the second set 25-19. The Greyhounds forced the third set past 25 points before falling 26-24.

Freshman middle blocker Taylor Kornmann led Moravian with nine kills in the match while sophomore middle blocker Victoria Bobyak added eight kills and a team high three service aces. Senior setter Kelly Brown controlled the Greyhounds on the floor with 32 assists and 12 digs while sophomore outside hitter Lauren Hostetler had seven kills and seven assists.

Freshman right side hitter Lauren Piccinch contributed five kills in her first collegiate start while junior outside hitter Kelianne Comitalo had three kills, four digs and three blocks in the match. Freshman libero Kim Groff added seven digs for the Greyhounds.

Moravian will play in pool BB on Saturday in the second day of the Buttermaker Tournament, battling DeSales University at 12:00 p.m. and Neumann University at 2:00 p.m. over at Muhlenberg.
