Volleyball Finishes Landmark Season with Setback to Susquehanna

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team closed out 2013 Landmark Conference season with a 3-1 loss to Susquehanna University to finish the second Landmark Conference Round Robin Weekend hosted by The Catholic University of America Sunday morning.

The Greyhounds complete their conference schedule with a 1-5 mark and will be the fifth seed in the six-team Landmark Conference Tournament in November. Moravian will play fourth seed The University of Scranton, and the Landmark Conference office is expected to announce the complete tournament schedule on Wednesday, October 23.

The Crusaders won the first set Sunday, 25-15, before the Greyhounds captured the second set, 25-16. Susquehanna won the next two sets, 25-14 and 25-15, to earn the victory.

Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Hostetler led Moravian with 12 kills and five digs while junior outside hitter Taylor Jennings and freshman middle blocker Taylor Kornmann each had six kills. Kornmann added four blocks.

Senior setter Kelly Brown controlled the Greyhounds' offense with 20 assists, and she added nine digs while sophomore defensive specialist Andrea Giardina added a team–high 13 digs.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, October 22 when the Greyhounds host Haverford College in Johnston Hall at 7:00 p.m.
