Volleyball Opens Buttermaker with 3-1 Win Over FDU-Florham

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- Junior outside hitter Kelianne Comitalo and sophomore outside hitter Lauren Hostetler each had 12 kills to lead the Moravian College women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over FDU-Florham in the opening round of pool play of the Buttermaker Tournament at Muhlenberg College Friday afternoon.

The Devils won the opening set, 25-22, before the Greyhounds evened the match with a 25-14 victory in the second set. Moravian won the third and fourth sets both by the score of 25-23.

Comitalo had seven digs and a pair of service aces to go with her 12 kills while Hostetler added two digs and a pair of blocks. Senior setter Kelly Brown paced the Moravian offense with 40 assists in the match to go with seven digs, four blocks and four kills while freshman libero Kim Groff had a team high 16 digs.

Senior right side hitter Katelynn Strohl contributed ten digs and a team high three service aces while freshman middle blocker Taylor Kornmann had nine kills for the Greyhounds. Sophomore middle blocker Victoria Bobyak added six kills, three blocks and two service aces.

Moravian will be back on the court this evening to finish out pool play in a match versus Gallaudet University starting at 7:00 p.m.
