LANCASTER, PA --- The Moravian College football team has been selected to finish ninth in the 2012 Centennial Conference preseason poll selected by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors and released after the 2012 Centennial Conference Football Kickoff on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College.  You can view the archived videos and web chats from the event here.

The Greyhounds, under the direction of second-year head coach Jeff Pukszyn, return 61 letterwinners and 13 starters from last year's 2-8 squad. The Greyhounds were 2-7 in their fifth Centennial Conference season last fall since joining the conference as an associate member in 2007, and Moravian expects to have 109 players report to camp on August 12th.

Defending Centennial Conference Champion Johns Hopkins University, which captured its seventh Centennial Conference title a year ago, was selected first in the Centennial Conference poll with 14 first-place votes and 153 points.  Ursinus College was picked second with 137 points and four first-place votes while Muhlenberg College was third with 126 points and one first-place vote.  Gettysburg College was picked fourth with 96 points while Susquehanna University was fifth with 92 points.  Franklin & Marshall finished sixth in the poll with 85 points while Dickinson College was seventh with the final first-place vote and 71 points.  McDaniel College was eighth at 68 points while Moravian had 53 points for ninth and Juniata College rounded out the poll with 19 points.

Moravian will begin its 2012 schedule on Saturday, September 1st in a non-conference game versus Ithaca College kicking off at 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field in Bethlehem.
