Thompson Named to Centennial Conference Weekly Honor Roll

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Senior punter/kicker Tyler Thompson (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin HS) of the Moravian College football team has been named to the Centennial Conference Weekly Football Honor Roll for his performance in Moravian's 38-18 loss to Susquehanna University on Saturday.

Thompson punted seven times in the game, and he averaged 37.9 yards per punt with four downed inside the 20-yard line including three inside the ten yard line.  One punt that was downed inside the one-yard line, a career long 49 yard punt with his left foot, eventually led to Moravian blocking a Susquehanna punt out of the end zone for a safety.  Thompson, who can punt with either leg, punted four times with his right foot and three times with his left foot in the game.  He ran a fake punt and picked up 11 yards for a first down.  Thompson also connected on his first field goal of the season, a 26-yard kick, and he made his only extra-point attempt of the game.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 20th in a Centennial Conference game at Franklin & Marshall College kicking off at 1:30 p.m.
